I bought a used car from a dealership, got home and realized that they did not do a current inspection and the inspection sticker is expired. Can they do that?

Apparently, there are rules to this little site. So, let me edit my question appropriately as so not to offend anybody. I’m 19 and I have basically no credit. I want to try and get a used car, but I am unsure what would be the best way to do so, seeing as most car dealers require good credit and/or a cosigner. Is there anything I can do right now, or do I just need to wait until my credit score goes up?

I am considering buying a 2008 toyota corolla with 15000 miles from a used car dealership. I was wondering if the manufacturers warranty still applies for this car. Toyota give a basic warranty of 3 years/36000 miles and 5 years 60,000 miles.

Thanks for your help!

I often wonder how a used car dealer values a car on his lot. Does he just pull a price out of the air and hope someone pays him that or is there a precise algorithm he uses?

I am buying a used car from someone today, they have the title, what do I need to do to transfer it over to me? Should I pay cash or money order, whats safer?

I’ve never had any of the used cars I’ve bought inspected and haven’t had any problems but I’m helping my buddy buy his first car and I think it would be a good idea. What should I tell him to ask the mechanic?
I’m in No Cal (Northern California)

Here’s what I mean: the greatest reason for buying new is that you know the complete history of the car and you won’t have any unexpected problems. So when is the right time to buy a used car? Those of you who buy them regularly, do you buy at 15k miles, 20k miles? One year old, or two years old – what has worked for you?

I know even a used car is a big investment so I am somewhat leery of used car sites online. I know that even auto companies have them so I wanted to check others experience.

Okay I’m a girl. I’m buying my first car and I have no clue about cars. I’m on a budget so I can’t get anything new so I’m going with used what are some things I need to know about cars like how many miles are too many miles, oil and stuff. Just some tips on what to look for so I don’t get ripped off.

I’m trying to find out what the legal requirements for a car to go from being “new” to “used” is. I think my car dealership ripped me off.
They sold us the car as “new” but when we had trouble getting the plates apparently someone else had gone to register it before us, and the odometer had like 600 miles on it.
