I’ve never had any of the used cars I’ve bought inspected and haven’t had any problems but I’m helping my buddy buy his first car and I think it would be a good idea. What should I tell him to ask the mechanic?
I’m in No Cal (Northern California)

   Not sure if it’s the same everywhere but here in Maine it’s $12.50.

   The most important ,engine and trans followed by suspension and brakes.Tires are wear and tear items but should be considered.With an engine compression test probably approx. 2hrs x whatever he charges/hr. well worth it.good luck

   depends on which country you are in. In the UK it is about 30 P sterling
